African Arenas
This collection is the result of a decade-long photographic journey across six African countries. While traveling through the continent, I was fascinated by the creativity with which football is played in the most unexpected places: from dusty sandlots to improvised pitches beneath highway overpasses.
Through my minimalist and cinematic style, I aimed to capture the beauty of these everyday moments and the powerful sense of joy and community surrounding the game.
This series has been exhibited internationally, including at the Brooklyn Museum. African Arenas celebrates the universal language of football and the extraordinary stories found in ordinary places.
